Rajini's fans disappointed

The superstar's fans were gearing up to celebrate their star's birthday which falls on the 12th of December. But Rajinikanth had requested them not to celebrate his birthday as the killing of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka continues.

Rajini had left Chennai on December 10th to Hyderabad where he will

participate in the shooting of Sultan – The Warrior. The film is directed by his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth. The shooting is on at the Ramoji Film City. The star is expected back in the city on December 15th. It is worth mentioning here that Rajini never stays in the city for his birthdays and prefers to spend time on his own or with his family.

Good news for Sonia Agarwal's fans

Sonia Agarwal debuted in the Tamil film industry with Kadhal Kondein in 2003 and went on to act in quite a number of films including 7G Rainbow Colony and Thiruttu Payale. The actress went into a short hibernation following her marriage to director Selvaragahvan who introduced her to Kollywood.


However, the actress in her seemed to have still remained intact and probably this could be the reason behind her role Radhika in Naanal. Naanal is a tele serial written and produced by Kushboo Sundar. This mega serial will be telecast from December 15th in Kalaignar TV.

Shriya, Vishal and Paravai Muniamma

It is known news that Vishal's next has been titled Thoranai. This film is produced by GK Productions on behalf of Vishal's brother Vikram Krishna and his wife Shreya Reddy. The good news for all Vishal's fans is that, for the first time, he is paired opposite Shriya Saran. Others in the star cast include Prakashraj, Kishore, Pandirajan, M S Baskar, Sreeman,

Santhanam, Livingston, Pyramid Natarajan, Shanmugarajan, T P Gajendran, Mayilsamy, Geetha, Aryan, Suman Shetty, and Paravai Muniamma.

This action-packed entertainer hit the floors recently with an introductory song that was shot in Karaikudi. Mani Sharma scored the music for this song and it is sung by Ranjith. A huge set was erected for this purpose, which includes a 60-feet statue of Goddess Durga and over 500 shops. Meenakshi of Karuppasamy Kuthagaitharar fame features in the introductory song along with Vishal.

Priyan will wield the camera for this venture. Editing will be done by V T Vijayan, art by Velu Prakash, stunt is by Stunt Siva, and the lyrics are penned by Snehan and Viveka.

A comedy scene from Endhiran

Rajinikanth starrer Endhiran, which was progressing rapidly, was stalled last week due to the heavy rains that lashed the Chennai city. Prior to the rains, the film’s crew was seen camping in several parts of the city to film some important scenes. Incidentally, director Shankar had planned the shooting schedule very meticulously and saw to it that the

unit shifted its base every day. Sources have it that this was to avoid the fans thronging the shooting venue. It is said that even the vehicles used for the shooting were parked in inconspicuous places.

Very recently, a comedy scene, in which Rajini was seen in both the roles as a scientist and Robot, was filmed at a famous beauty parlor. As per the scene, Rajini takes the Robot for a haircut to a salon. The hairstylist takes a look at robot Racine’s long locks of hair and asks if it took six months to grow that much to which he replies that it took just one day. This scene had the crew watching it in splits of laughter.

Naan Kadavul’s release date

Finally it looks like the audio release of Naan Kadavul will be held in December. However, no date has been fixed for this event as yet. The film, ever since it started rolling, hit on a series of problems and it took nearly two years to complete. Though director Bala had completed the shooting now, no date has been fixed for the movie’s release as yet.


But the producers have now made it clear that the audio launch will be held in December at any cost. Ilayaraja has scored the music for Naan Kadavul. It is said that an old song has been included in the film, but it is still uncertain if it is a remix.

Dhanush-Rajini sentiment

Rajinikanth son-in-law and established in his own right, Dhanush, seems to have a strong penchant for the latter’s film titles. So far Dhanush has picked out two titles of Rajinikanth yesteryear blockbuster – Polladhavan and Padikadhavan (still in the making).

The latest buzz is that his next film
Dhanush
will be named Pokkiri Raja. It may be remembered that Rajini played the lead role in this film some years ago. The film will be produced by Raj TV. Dhanush’s other ventures in the making includes Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam, which will be directed by his brother Selvaraghavan.

Rajinikanth has been around in the film industry for over a couple of decades and is known for stylish acting and persona. The Superstar, in fact, still remains an enigma to many. In an effort to unravel it Dr. Gayathri Srikanth has penned a biography on him.

The biography, titled Rajini Pera Kettale, was published jointly by Om Books International, Savera Hotel and Dr. Duraisamy Eye Hospital. The others present at the function include Siva Kumar, Naren, Srikanth, Sandhya, Keerthi Chawla, and Shoba Chandrasekar.

Rajini's political problems comes to an end?

The regional issue surrounding the birth state of super star appears to have come to an end with a Tamil weekly reporting that he indeed belongs only to Tamil Nadu. It was reported in one of the recently held fans-meets about a fan asking the Boss about his plans for a memorial mandapam for his parents in their native place, namely, Nachikuppam

in Krishnagiri district. Stunned by this, Rajini had asked to meet this fan.

Later investigation revealed that Rajinikanth was born in Nachikuppam which is a good 70 Kms from Bengaluru and his parents and other relatives had lived there for quite some time. His maternal uncle and aunt still live in Nachikuppam and a photo of the super star with his uncle adorns the walls in his uncle's house. It is also being said that Rajini may consider his political entry after Endhiran and now that it has been proved that he is after all born in Tamilnadu, it brings a huge sigh of relief to his numerous fans across the world.

“I am satisfied when I work with Silambarasan and Vishal”

Meenakshi who made her screen debut in Karuppasamy Kuthagaidarar will be seen doing an item number of sorts with Silambarasan in Silambattam and with Vishal in Doranai. When she was quizzed on this, the lady said, “People think that I am doing these dance numbers because I don’t have films in hand. But it is not true. I am booked as a

heroine in Rajadhi Raja, 4777, Pallikondapuram and Perumal”. She also added that the solo dance numbers are only for her personal satisfaction. “I feel good when people call me for song and dance sequences.”

When quizzed about her dance number in Silambattam and Doranai, Meenakshi said that when she dances with popular stars like Vishal and Silambarasan, it will definitely boost her image and give her a professional satisfaction. In Doranai, she will be seen in the intro number of Vishal while in Silambattam, it is a party song with the little super star.

Rajini pera ketaale….!

Superstar Rajinikanth's biography, authored by Gayathri Srikanth, is ready to be released in Tamil. Gayathri's Tamil version of the book, titled Rajini Pera Ketaale, will be launched on November 30 in an event in Chennai.

Representatives of the author mention that the Tamil version will

have many interesting additions as opposed to the English version. The book will be released by Kanimozhi M P and first copy will be presented to entrepreneur Meena Reddy. Soundarya Rajinikanth and director Muthuraman are also expected to take part in the event.



Gautham & Rahman - One more!

While Harris has gone on records about his rift with Gautham Menon and announced about his split with the director, the latter remained tightlipped about the whole issue. Soon enough, as if to acknowledge the split officially, Gautham has recently struck a deal with A R Rahman for his Telugu venture produced by the UTV Motion Pictures

with Mahesh Babu in the lead. Kollywood sources predict that Gautham’s association with Rahman will continue in his future projects too. Rahman is also scoring for Gautham’s Chennayil Oru Mazhaikaalam, which is reportedly 60 per cent complete.
